His wishes were fulfilled, and in the 1999-2000 season, he began playing for Houston Rockets.
In his first season, he shared the Rookie of the Year award, and in the second season, he made it to the All-Star game. Things didn’t go so well for him as he had a constant feud with the coach Van Gundy and that saw him traded to Orlando Magic in the 2004 -2006 season. Being at Orlando Magic still Francis wasn’t happy about it, but he later adapted to the environment. However, something happened in the middle of the season, which made him unhappy, and he decided to leave the team for New York Knicks for the 2006-2007 season. Here at Knicks, he dint stay for long, and he was bought again by Portland for $30 million before he returned to Houston Rockets for a two-year contract which was $6 million.
At Houston Rockets, things felled apart with injuries, and in 2008 he left for Grizzlies which was in Memphis. No team desired his services again, and its reported Grizzlies waived him.
